# Set up your account and workspace

> Complete your profile, set notification preferences, and configure your workspace settings to get the most out of Mintlify Starter Kit.

After signing up, take a few minutes to configure your account so your workspace feels right from day one. A complete profile helps teammates recognize you, and tuned notifications keep you informed without noise.

  <Step title="Complete your profile">
    Open **Settings > Profile** and add your full name, role, and avatar. Choose a display name that your team will recognize in mentions and the activity feed.

  <Step title="Set notification preferences">
    Go to **Settings > Notifications** and pick which events you want to receive by email, in-app, or both. You can mute specific workspace channels later, but setting your defaults now prevents inbox overload.

  <Step title="Configure workspace settings">
    Visit **Settings > Workspace** to set your default timezone, language, and week-start day. If you are the workspace owner, you can also upload a logo and set the workspace name here.

  <Step title="Invite your team">
    From the workspace settings panel, click **Invite Members** and send invites by email. New members receive a link to join and inherit the default role you assign.
