# Organize your work with Workspaces

> Learn how Workspaces help you separate teams, clients, and projects. Create, customize, and switch between workspaces in Mintlify Starter Kit.

Workspaces are the top-level containers for your work in Mintlify Starter Kit. Each workspace holds its own projects, members, automations, and settings, so you can keep different teams or clients cleanly separated without mixing permissions or data.

You can belong to multiple workspaces and switch between them instantly from the main navigation. Workspace owners control branding, member roles, and billing in one place.

  <Step title="Open the workspace menu">
    Click your current workspace name in the top-left header to open the workspace switcher.

  <Step title="Create a new workspace">
    Select **Create Workspace**. Enter a name, pick a color, and optionally upload a logo. Choose whether the workspace is for internal use or a client engagement.

  <Step title="Set default preferences">
    Select a default timezone and language for the workspace. These apply to all new members who join.

  <Step title="Invite members">
    Add teammates by email and assign roles: Admin, Editor, or Viewer. Admins can manage settings and billing; Editors can create and edit projects; Viewers have read-only access.

<Tip>
  Use the keyboard shortcut Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows) to open the command palette and jump between workspaces without using the mouse.

To switch workspaces at any time, click the workspace name in the header and pick another workspace from the list. Your last-viewed workspace is remembered across sessions.
